Budget & Finance is proud to offer a series of dynamic training programs designed to empower finance, administration, and research administration professionals. These programs reflect the OF&S division’s commitment to operational excellence and the customer experience. By addressing common challenges, simplifying complex tasks, and supporting professional growth, these training opportunities are your gateway to mastering the fundamentals of finance.

Dollars Making Sense

  • Overview: A ten-session program offering foundational knowledge in procurement, payables, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Target Participants: Finance professionals or individuals with financial responsibilities who are new to their roles or looking to enhance their skills.

  • Schedule: Held 2 times each year, the first session for 2025 began in January with the next session expected in Fall 2025.

STARS Training

  • Overview: This program comprises ten sessions focused on grant administration skills and covers the entire grant lifecycle, including pre-award, post-award, and compliance.

  • Target Participants: Grant Administrators and professionals in the sponsored research space.

  • Schedule: Offered bi-annually, the next cohort is anticipated to launch in Fall 2025, following the session that began in January 2025.

Procurement Preparer In-Person Training

  • Overview: A practical, hands-on session improving procurement process proficiency.

  • Target Participants: New procurement requesters and anyone who wishes to better understand the process.

  • Schedule: Conducted monthly at the Cambridge Office Building on the second Wednesday, attendees are encouraged to bring laptops for personalized assistance.

Procurement & Payment Power Hour

  • Overview: A virtual monthly open forum to address queries, resolve challenges, and share process updates in collaboration with Procurement, Payments, and Expenses teams.

  • Audience: Department Administrators.

  • Schedule: Occurs on the last Wednesday of each month.
