F&A continues to make progress on its cultural transformation, which includes the following exciting changes:
- Raza Dawood joins the team as the new Associate Vice President of Transformational Technology and Innovation. Dawood will focus on advancing the university's technological framework to enhance the experience for all campus constituents. Merging creativity with a profound understanding of AI and data science, he will produce outputs that allow for data-informed decision-making and foster a culture of continuous learning and technological advancement.
- Rick Mello assumes the role of Associate Vice President for Campus Services and Sustainability after a competitive national search. During his seven-month interim appointment, he collaborated with campus and student leaders to discover and implement practices to best serve campus constituents.
- Katrina Spencer now holds the role of Rice University's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Instrumental in driving the Budget Transformation and the Research Administration Initiatives, Spencer’s leadership is poised to make a lasting impact.
- The Rice Crisis Management Department is now Emergency Management, reflecting its campus-wide incident management responsibilities. The Crisis Management Team (CMT) will now be called the Incident Management Team (IMT), aligning with national standards, while the Crisis Management Advisory Committee (CMAC) retains its name.
- The F&A webpage now features the organizational charts for each department within the division, providing clear insight into the division’s hierarchy. These charts are available for online viewing or direct download, offering a detailed understanding of each department’s structure.
