Welcome to the Fast Five with Finance and Administration! This campus-wide monthly publication will highlight the latest updates on our key initiatives. Here are the five things you need to know about F&A this Thursday:
1. F&A Cultural Transformation! Our division is committed to transforming our services to better support the campus community and deliver on Rice’s mission. F&A will build on its existing strengths and enhance them through a relentless pursuit of excellence, innovation, and inclusion. READ MORE
2. Budget Transformation Launches Phase 2! The Budget Transformation Initiative project has entered Phase 2: Model Design. During Phase 1: Discovery, the team gained valuable insights from the campus community through interviews, engagement sessions, surveys, and data deep dives. Phase 2 is launching by convening both the Steering and Design Committees who will begin designing the new budget model throughout the summer. READ MORE
3. HR Excellence: Performance Management Update! Performance Management begins on July 5, 2023. This initiative aims to foster a collaborative partnership between supervisors and staff, leveraging effective communication, employee development, and standardized evaluation practices. READ MORE
4. Capital Excellence: Green Lit Projects! With the goals of this initiative in mind, the Board of Trustees has approved several capital projects including Colleges 12 and 13, BRC and O’Connor lab buildouts, and Phase 1 of renovations to the R-Room and restroom upgrades within the football stadium. 5. Lunch and Listen Session for Campus Community! In July and August, Kelly Fox is hosting two "Lunch and Listen" sessions for non-F&A community members. These in-person sessions will give folks the opportunity to share opinions and ideas on F&A operations and hear more about the F&A strategic initiatives. Space is limited so be sure to sign-up today.
